Discovering Dubai

Child-Friendly Tour

In 2016, when I moved to Dubai, my children were 4 and 6 years old.

It was June (yes, I know, not the best month!). We had a whole summer ahead of us before school started, we barely knew anyone, and their English was non-existent; mine was very shaky… After the first few settling-in days, I bought a nice notebook and, with maps, websites, and various apps, I began to figure out how we could spend those long days together, alternating activities for them and for me… Dubai is definitely a child-friendly city, and I discovered it through my children’s eyes!

From that experience came an article that Sabina from Zig Zag Mom, a blogger I had been following for a few years, asked me to write. She had a section of her site dedicated to traveling with kids.

The article is still online; if you’re curious, you can find it HERE.
Some of the experiences I wrote about no longer exist, like the wonderful Mattel Play Ground at City Walk (what a pity), although, of course, in 8 years, many new activities have been added.

Then, starting in 2018, as a tour guide, I often found myself taking families with children of all ages on tours, and gradually I began to adjust the itinerary to make stops at public parks to let the kids expend some energy and help the parents relax. I started bringing along books that might interest them, colored pencils, paper, and items that could capture their attention and curiosity.

My colleague Maria Corea did the same during her years as a guide, and together we designed this Special Itinerary Discovering Dubai: fun and educational at the same time.

The history of Dubai is fascinating; it takes us back in time through the magic and dangers of the desert, and the wealth and tempests of the sea. Even the youngest can appreciate this journey through history and the past with anecdotes, fascinating stories, and interactive activities that will help them understand the place they live in today and perhaps appreciate it even more!

This is an invitation and an opportunity to spend quality time with your kids!

We look forward to seeing you on the tour, book here.

Do the dates not suit you? Each Special Itinerary can also be booked privately. Just message me, and we’ll find the right date for you!

P.S. We had the opportunity with Maria Corea to guide Italian a tour with children from the DIA Al Barsha School, thanks to the support of their Italian teachers, and it was a wonderful educational experience for them and for us!
If your children’s school is interested in this collaboration, we are available. Message me for more information.
